9-13 March 2009 - Daily Lives

Sorry ya! This post should be interchanged with the previous post! I accidentally posted it in the wrong sequence.

9 March 2009 (Monday)
This day, i went out with my malay classmates with me being the only Chinese (well, it didn't matter.). They were Aliff, Hisham and Faris. The destination was Lowyat Plaza. And the aim was to buy a Gundam model (what and what....whatsoever...). So, early in the morning, we set off by taking Rapid KL U80 to KL Sentral. From there, we took monorail to Imbi station and then i led them walking all the way to Lowyat Plaza. Haha...damned familiar with the place ady, could even walked with the eyes closed, provided the passing cars wouldn't knock me down. After we entered the complex, they headed straight to 3rd floor to go to the shop selling the models.

In the afternoon, we went to Times Square. Once again, they were looking for the shops selling the models....At around 5.30p.m., Aliff and i went for a bowling match. Hadn't been playing for a very long time ady, my skill wasn't as good as last time. But still managed to make good score lah! haha...After that, we went to Popular in Petaling Street and then took the Rapid KL to go back to hostel. That day was only moderate for me. It should be a happy thing for me to go to Times Square, but i just couldn't help it. Didn't know why.....

Photos taken in Times Square.

10 March 2009 (Tuesday)
That day we were back to lessons. Everything was so normal that day, except my maths lecturer came to me out of a sudden and told me that there would be a Olympiad entry test tomorrow evening. Oh my god! Die loh! Why didn't u tell me earlier?! I had been fooling around these few days man....not ready for the test at all! Somemore the loathsome ethics test was on that that day also. 'Jialat' liao this time.....

11 March 2009 (Wednesday)
In the morning, as what i had aforementioned, we had ethics test. Hmm....the test wasn't too hard for me, hopefully. I wrote long answers for all the questions as i didn't have a clue about how many marks would be given for each question. Haih...didn't care ady. Not an important subject also, i just hope that i could pass the test, and then forget about it...

In the evening, i had to attend the Olympiad entry test. Not many ALM candidates were chosen (including me, there were around 3 to 4 people only.), and mostly were from AUSMAT. Well, the test paper was given to us at 4.00p.m. The format was simple. 5 questions, 25 marks overall, duration was 1 hour, no calculator was allowed. When i ever had the very first glance at the first question, i knew that i was in trouble ady. From the look, it wasn't hard. It was just to simplify the equation involving square roots and substitutions. But i really had a hard time with it. Whenever i had solved a square root, the other new square root will appear. Frustrated and pissed off ady, i moved on to the next question. This time, it was about solving the equation and factorization. The question was shown this way...(x-99)(x-101)(x-103)(x-105)=-16....i knew there was a sequence (common difference of 2)between each factor. I managed to work out some solutions, but was not able to get the answer lah! I ended up in getting a very long equation. Sob...the next 3 questions were also the same. They weren't in our syllabus anyways....haih...Fine! At least i showed my efforts. I saw that some people didn't even bother to continue doing the questions. They just slept till the end of the test......

13 March 2009 (Friday)
Most of my friends went back to their hometowns that day. Nothing special for this day. My visit to City Harvest's Friends' night had been postponed to next Friday as i wanna attend the Friends' night of West Zone. After the lession ended, i went to the cemara hostel for post mortem till 3.00p.m. J Cyn sent a message to Theng Theng, saying that their bus heading to Perak had confronted a problem with the gear. My classmate and friend, ph and pw were there also. Haih....kesian them...had to wait for a very long time for next bus. Pw said she wouldn't take the bus home anymore oh?!! Can u believe? haha...i don't believe. I think she will still take the bus. Going back to Perak by taxi costs a great deal. Tiap-tiap kali pun taxi can make u broke man....haha.....Happy holidays everyone!! ^^

The Reasons Why I Don't Really Like To Be Back Home For Holidays......

Hi! I am back to blogging! Has been a long time since i last blogged right? Hehe! This time, i have written another 5 posts for this blog. I haven't done yet, actually. There should be one more post! Stayed tuned and i will post it in no time okay?! Well, i have made changes to my blog this time. Firstly, i ady changed the title of my blog, as what had suggested by my buddies, Wooi Liang and Wee Loon. They told me that they felt very streesful to read my blog oh! Why ah? haha! Wooi Liang suggested to me to change the title to 'My bombastic life'. However, i think it is not exaggerated enough. I personally think that the title 'My explosive life' will sound better! Shoo the life abnormalities, and welcome 'explosives' into my life!! K. Back to my post. As what u can see from the title, i always remind myself to not be so homesick by going back home so frequently. It is not to say that i don't enjoy the holidays, but on the other hand, it always interferes with my plans for studies and homeworks. Therefore, i am gonna take these one week-holidays for instance to testify how true it is by the ways how i had spent my time for holidays!

16 March 2009 (Monday)
That day, i went out with Zhung Lun for a piano practice in my former beloved school, Victoria Institution. Well, that fellow, as usual, was not being punctual again. We ady dealed that we would meet at 10.00a.m. I called him, and he told me that he would reach within 20 minutes. And then, he only showed himself at 11.10a.m. Walao! His '20 minutes' were damned long man! Somehow fed up with him ady. Big 'aeroplaner'. Sorry lah! I think Daniel will have to agree with me for that also...

When i first came to school, i went to VIRCS (Victoria Institution Red Crescent Society) room. I am the senior and the former treasurer of this society. Wow! My juniors were practising A-drill behind the rc room. The A-drill competition is just around the corner. However, from what i had seen, their marching skills were not performed to the required standard yet. Also, they hadn't start practising the formation. Some Form 1s even had to join the squad (well, it has been a tradition that Form 1 newbies aren't allowed to join A-drill squad) bcoz they were running out of members. Haih....really wish them good luck....

Our VIRCS A-drill squad.

Then, i went to the school hall for the piano practice session with zl. We were working hard on a song which i can't tell the name lah! It is confidential. haha...The hall was a bit messy bcoz of the renovation. Some actors would be coming over to take video for a local drama. So, the practice lasted until around 12.00p.m. After that, we went to the school field bcoz zl said he wanted to take photos. We saw our school band practising hard under the extreme hot weather. Pity them...But that is how they have brought great fame to our school! As we were ready to go to Times Square through the main gate, we met our junior, Chin Hong coincidentally. That fellow got car man! So, we asked him to send us to Times Square. And then u know what happened? He sent us to Petaling Street as he would be having tuition class there! What in the Merlin's name?! U watched up lah Chin Hong! See how u passed ur jpa interview! Haha...

Playing piano in school hall.

Then, we walked all the way to Times Square. Nothing special came to us. We just wandered around, went to gift shop and then to watch a movie named Dragon Ball Evolution. Arghh....Not really a good one, as the story line had been greatly distorted from the one of original version. The graphics were great, it was just the story that mattered. After that, we went to Boarders bcoz the joker wanted to buy a book entitled 'The Return', if i am not mistaken. But, there weren't any in Boarder. So, we went to Popular in Petaling Street and were finally managed to get the book. Zl went back home afterwards, leaving me loitering around Petaling Street alone. I went to internet cafe after that and stayed there till around 7.00p.m., i think. Then, i went back home by Rapid KL. That was how i spent my 1st day of holidays...one day gone....

17-18 March 2009 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
I went to Wooi Liang's house and stayed over night there! I didn't know how i would have promised him as he asked me to come to his house. Haih okay....for friendships. Wee Loon also came and stayed that day. I did nothing much these 2 days, actually. The time spent to fool around with them ady occupied most of my time. Singing through the Meetoto website (i don't even know such kind of website will ever exist!) and playing Dota and then going out for mamak in the midnight! Oh my god....On second day, we all (hmm...more accurately, the other 2 jokers only... i woke up at 10.00a.m. which was practically late for me.) woke up late. After that, they all started playing Dota again (i played a bit though..), skipping our breakfast. So, we played till around 2.00p.m., and then went out to eat niang dou fu (酿豆腐)with another friend, Chung Yang. Haih...u see, 3 days gone....

Our lunch,酿豆腐!

Wooi Liang, Wee Loon.

19 March 2009 (Thursday)
Well, that day was special a bit bcoz i didn't go out! Yeah! God bless! I thought that i could finally gain some times and 'opportunities' to do my revision! However, when i was about to take my books, i passed by the television. On top of that i saw some DVDs (Disc 1 to Disc 5) of the Hong Kong drama, The Four (四大神捕)! Wow fantastic! Since when my family had bought this drama?! I hadn't watch yet! So, i planned to slightly 'delay' my revision as it was only 8.30a.m. now ma! Haha...no problem one! I could do it later. And then, when i finished watching the 2nd DVD, it was ady 9.00p.m. (to be reminded, i took a siesta in the afternoon...). In a nutshell, 4 days had gone! Sob...Oh yeah! This day was my roommate, Zhu Jie's 18th birthday man! Wish him happy birthday!! Ady bought present for him. Gonna give him when we meet. ^^

6 March 2009- Sunway Pyramid!

Hmm....well....today....this day, arghh....i mean THAT DAY, was the very same Friday day with the lessons ended at 12.00p.m. (that day was a bit special, as our beloved english lecturer was ill. U should know what happened right? haha!) again, because i went to Sunway Pyramid again (swt...). Basically, everything was the same as the previous ones, if u ever read through my older posts, except that this time i had waited for a longer period of time for my classmates (ph and pw). Not very long also, for one and a half hour only ma! Don't feel guilty ya, i was doing it heartily and willingly. No doubts for it okay?! So, while waiting for them, i went to KFC to eat my breakfast. Haha! I ate this for free u know? Bcoz i just got one KFC voucher yesterday when we all finished our biology test. After that, i went back to the bus stop and continued the WAITING. Time is gold man! So, i took out my stpm biology book and started doing revision on the chapter we had learnt just now. Ya, before i forget, i really want to make full use of this chance to apologise to my classmate, Wei Jiann, who sat next to me. That day, once again, i didn't bring my notes and exercises and bcoz of that he had to share his with me lah! I seriously felt ultimately sorry and guilty for that. Haih...can't change my bad habit. I don't like to keep papers, almost all my close friends know that. Therefore, i had been sitting in the bus stop reading my books for around an hour...blah blah blah...we met up with other guys in KTM station, namely Zi Xuan, Adam Tay, Bryan Chong, and Zhu Jie (wanna call him 'pig' also can. He is my roommate). Before that, we missed the train by only 5 seconds. Ph complained and was seemed to be very annoyed with that. Yeah....indeed, no one could stand that. The train just went without waiting for us, leaving us pissed off.....

We reached Sunway Pyramid at around 1.45pm, i guess. So, from here right at the entrance, we were separated into 2 gangs bcoz some of the guys (hmm...actually, all guys except me, i was the traitor.) wanted to watch a Singaporean movie, which i can't recall its name, AGAIN. Then, we went to Kim Gary for lunch. As usual, before we managed to order the foods, we actually needed to spend around 15 to 25 minutes in surfing through the food menu. After lunch, the girls led me to Red Box to book the room. We were gonna sing k! At the same time, ph and i also applied for the Red Box memberships, in case that next time my old friends come and pull me out for karaeokay in kl. However, all rooms were not available that time. We would have to wait and come back at 4.oop.m. for the next available room. Therefore, we came out with another new plan which was that we would sing first and then watch a movie named The Watchman, if i was not mistaken. Next, we proceeded to cinema to buy the tickets loh, of coz! Walao yeah! There were only two turns left for the movie, one at around 5p.m. and the other one at 7.15p.m. The first turn wasn't gonna be feasible for us as we would be having a 'throat-soring' session in somewhere else later. But if we chose the second turn, we would have to rush and even skip our dinner bcoz that 'session' ended at 7.00p.m. So, this plan wasn't gonna work. Ph and pw said that we would watch again next time. After that, we left the cinema and loitered around for a short while before we went to Red Box again at 4.00p.m.

Ph and pw. Lunch time in Kim Gary.

At 4.00p.m., we were back to Red Box. Oh my god! We still had to wait! After 5 minutes or ten, we finally got into the room. This was my first time to be here in Red Box man! In kl, i usually went to New Way in Times Square with my friends. Well, the room was relatively small as compared to the one i had entered in New Way. Also, I wasn't able to put a tick on some songs owing to the fact that the choices of songs weren't fully available! Therefore, we had spent 3 hours there, singing a lot of Jay Chou's songs and english songs. Hmm...well, i had realised something during the process. The saying 'the book cannot be judged by its cover' does come true in our daily lives, in fact. I was a bit 'surprised' when we came to sing the pop and rock songs......

In Red Box. Them again! Haha! Sorry lah! I forgot to take my own photos and need some photos to glamorize my post. Sacrifice a bit lah! haha...

After having a crazy time in Red Box, we left for dinner. Well....ph complained again. She wasn't able to sing the last few songs, whatsoever.....At the same time, Bryan phoned me bcoz he wanted to borrow my student card. His gang just finished watching the movie and were about to sing k. That time was the 'Golden' hour, if u didn't have a student card, the fee would be extremely expensive. Then, we went to Gasoline for dinner loh! The atmosphere over here was a bit dim as it was only illuminated by a few old-fashioned lamps (i really don't know how to call them..). Gasoline is also quite a famous food shop in kl, for ur information. I would go there in Times Square for lunch with my friends sometimes. Haih...so missed those days...blah blah blah....hmm...so reluctant to mention again, but ph COMPLAINED again. Aiyoyo! That day she had complained a lot ady man! Whereas pw was quiet only( she talked lah, but didn't make it aloud..). This time, it was about the 'quantity'. Her dinner was being served in such a gargantuan amount again (should have taken the some photos of it, but i just forgot.). So, i helped her up a bit with the food.

Ph's food. For her, it was an gargantuan amount. For me, 'infinitesimal' only! Cher....I showed off!^^

After we had done, we (them only, i was just the 'faithful servant'...don't know whether to cry or laugh...)went to do girlie stuff....shopping! As usual, we took an hour or two to visit from one shop to another. After that, we took the taxi to go back to akasia hostel. Wow! ph had a considerably serious sore throat that night in such a way that she had to type her message in her handphone to show me when she wanted to talk to me! Pity her man....so, after i sent the girls back to hostel, i planned to take Rapid KL to go back to Cendana hostel. It was 10.00p.m. that time. I had been waiting in the bus stop for almost 2 hours till 11.45p.m., and i didn't see any traces or signs of buses passing by. DuuuuLAN liao, the gate of my hostel was gonna close at 12.00a.m. sharp! If the bus still didn't show itself, then i was gonna spend my whole night sleeping outside the gate like beggar or went a long way to Mac Donald! Haih...but finally, i decided to take the taxi with other malay passengers and was then back to my hostel at around 12.05a.m. Why why why....sui lah! Right after i reached my room, i plunged myself onto the bed. Well u see...i was utterly exhausted that night that i didn't bother to say my prayers, brush my teeth, and take bath!! Tak boleh tahan at all! Nitez.....^^

A report written for Campus Alive on 11 March 2009

With the advent of third week of March, our ministry had managed yet another Camps Alive which falled on 11 March 2009. In the evening, those who were in-charged of transportation waited at the bus stops located at Cendana, Cemara and Akasia hostels. I was to wait at Cendana hostel whereas the other friend, Jonathan Wong had been waiting at Cemara and Akasia hostel for quite a long time that evening. So, we gathered around at around 6.00p.m. and set off to church after that.

The Campus Alive started at 8.00p.m. after everyone had had their dinners. That night, the number of attendees was not as many as usual. The cause for that was due to the fact that the seniors had exams and the ADFP students had their tests that day. However, all of us knew that it didn't matter. Campus Alive would still went on regardless of the number of people, and time will come to prove that Jesus can provide the number. Before the Campus Alive was officially started, we had a praying session. It was initiated by Larry and ended by Samantha. Next, Campus Alive was alive by our emcees of the day, Graham Lai from AUSMAT and Fabiolla Lea from ALM. This was then followed by an opening prayer, led by Graham Lai.

After that, we proceeded to our next event, the gaming session. The game master of the day was Joy. She had proposed to us a game by which we all were separated into two groups and lined up. So, the first person of each group would have to think of and create some random yet so-called exaggerated movements to be imitated by the next person lining up behind. The condition here was that no one was supposed to look forward by turning around from each other from the front to the back. Therefore, the imitation was relayed from the first person to the next one till the last person. The last person would then be invited to come to the front for the performance of 'relayed movements'. They wre Jonathan Wong and Jonathan Chua. Well, as what we had seen, the movements were prodigiously distorted to an extent that they hardly showed any similarities with the oroginal one, causing the people around laughing out their heads off! Next, the first people, namely Esmond, Joshua and Karen were also asked to perform the original version of movements that really showed a great difference.

The third event was the worshipping session, led by Larry. Larry himself was the guitarist and the vocal. The other members of the band comprised the drummer (Joshua), the keyboard player (Samantha) and two backup singers (Jonathan Chua and Hui Theng). So, Larry had brought to us a few worship songs, namely One Way, Praises (Everyone), For All You've Done, Amazed, Heart of Worship, Ku Mahu Cinta Yesus Selamanya. Certainly, it was clearly revealed that all people sang the worship songs with hearts for Jesus. The presence of His love has always been the avenue for us to love people and to be loved by people as well. The atmosphere was indeed teeming with all His love!

Then, this was followed by our next event, a speech by Elder Kien Yiak from Acts Church. He is truly a good and sophisticated speaker and all of us were greatly impressed by his talk. He preached to us about a lot of things in a humorous manner, and that was why the surrounding atmosphere was always full of laughters and cheerings. In his preaching, we were told to behave in our real and sincere personality. We should act according to our characters and be debarred from becoming double-faced people. Besides that, he also told us that passion is all about giving, in accordance with what the bible has mentioned. He emphasized to us that Jesus Christ believes in us, and will always provide the clues and answers whenever we are confronted with problems. Therefore, faith is what we truly need and that is how we will be blessed. Apart from that, we were also being reminded that Jesus is able to give. If we can manage strong faith in Jesus, all our requests will be answered. He listens to our prayers and problems, and He does answer them. "God does answer us. He answers all our phone calls, SMS, and E-mails!!", he talked to us in a creative way.

It was really a long period of time before he finished his preaching. The talk was started at 9.00p.m. and ended at 10p.m. After that, there were announcements from the emcees, saying that there would be a prayer meeting in Cendana, Akasia and Cemara hostels at 8.00p.m. the next day. Also, a Post Mortems would also be held in Cemara's "Startbucks" on Friday.

Finally and practically, the Campus Alive was ended after the announcements, accompanied by the prayers led by Elder Kien Yiak. After that, we went to refreshment room for refreshment while waiting for the transportation fetching us back to respective hostel. Usually, refreshment time is considered as the best time where the people can mix around and communicate with each others.

The report is done by Chong Tze Jun from ALM9.

27 February 2009 - Music Audition

Yeah...as the title denotes, this day was full of musics. On that day, i didn't go to sunway as 'usual', but instead, i went to the music block for music band audition. My friends were involved, and they were Larry(drum), Aliff(guitar), Annuar(guitar), Azri(bass), and Farhan(vocal). The audition was supposedly to start at 4.00pm. So, after our lessons ended at 12.00pm, i went out with my malay classmates for lunch. Right after that, i went to the music block to practise piano 1st while waiting for them to finish their prayers. Hmm....basically, nothing was too special about this day lah! Therefore, i wouldn't be long-winded in this post. Good for u all too. Staring at the monitor for a long period of time is detrimental to eyes. Lol....At the same time, i had also taken a lot of photos, for both the audition as well as the day before it when they were having a practice session in the midnight. They are fantastic!! ^^

The night before the audition, they practised hard in the middle of the night. The first and last ever practice though....haha....The first photo shows the full members of band. From top left, they are Larry, Azri and Annuar. The rest are Farhan and Aliff, from bottom left.

On the day of audition. Their performance wasn't that downcast, from what i 'heard'. I couldn't actually see their performance bcoz i was late for the show. The performance room was locked from inside, and that was why i couldn't enter the room. So, i just stayed and listened from outside.

After the audition, i went to play the keyboard/electronic piano. My classmates and some bandsmen followed. Haih...it was a waste that i couldn't join their band by positioning myself as the pianist. They invited me, but i rejected due to a scarcity of self-confidence. Haha...next time ba if by any chance! The two photos above are actually snapshots which i have split from the videos! My classmates took my videos while i was playing the keyboard. To Daniel and Zhung Lun: Can u guess what song was i playing? haha...my skills are improved ady wei Daniel!
